Unit 5. eTwinning project

My project is set in the Science branch. Our school works on a Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) project which would grow exponentially with the inclusion of eTwinning. It is focused on the eye and the process of sight, as well as on the dangers for our sight in our habits and how to prevent them. The main language is English but we can accommodate to Spanish (our L1) if needed. We are working with 3rd ESO levels, that is to say, with 14-15 years old students. You can check the materials and planning by following the link below: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dvb6rj8bvytyyj7/Looking%20into%20the%20Eye%20-%20eTwinning%20project.pdf?dl=0 Best regards, Miquel Àngel Fuentes Arjona

Unit 4. Collaborative activity.

Hi there! This is my Unit 4 collaborative activity. My project is a Science in English project for 3rd ESO (14-15 years old students). Ideally, it would be nice to work with students of the same age of any country. The main language is English but we could also switch to Spanish if that were the target language of a partner school. This activity is supposed to be implemented in just one session. In this practice, we get to know more about color blindness and we take color blindness tests. Then, we discuss the results together and hold a brief Google Hangouts meeting to discuss the results with our eTwinning partners. The meeting could be held among different schools, too. It could be arranged among two, three or four schools, for example. The materials can be found in these links: PDF version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/20wpq4qa8oj3c3b/Color%20blind%20test%20eTwinning.pdf?dl=0 DOC version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/auk1x4bmi24oqyp/Color%20blind%20test%20eTwinning.docx?dl

Common strengths and weaknesses seen in project drafts.

As a common strength, I have detected a very high amount of motivation and dedication on every project I have seen. There is also a lot of variety and creativity!! Very eye-opening!! As for common weaknesses, normally the lack of details has left me a little disappointed. There are lots of projects I would have liked to know more about!! To what extent you think that all this activity will be useful to prepare the final version of the project: I believe that I still lack a lot of creativity to tackle the project. Also, I need to be more flexible in terms of coming up with new ideas to make the project more accessible and shareable with other schools. Lots of work ahead!!

Project Draft - Looking into the Eye (Science: Biology)

The draft for the project belongs to a Science unit focused on the human eye and how to prevent eye conditions related with the misuse of digital devices. You can find a template below. There is still a lot to polish and adapt in terms of sharing the product with other schools. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tV6ex7uiYpR9FYxU2st3CVoWft16aybkV6ig5OhFCc8/edit?usp=sharing

Unit 2. Learning Evidence Portfolio.

What needs or areas of improvement and learning have I detected in my teaching? One of my areas of concern is the integration of ICT resources which are meaningful, sensible and contribute to the students' knowledge. It is paramount to highlight that these tools may also encourage students to work with their English outside school, thus contributing to a better self-image towards English as a foreign language as well as its suitability as a lingua franca . What projects have I found that might help me? Among the many interesting projects, communities and tools featured in the curation, I would like to remark the following ones: 1. Is this castle haunted? https://www.etwinning.net/en/pub/projects/project.cfm?id=101319 On castles. Really fun, creative and interesting. 2. Mirror, mirror... https://www.etwinning.net/en/pub/projects/project.cfm?id=108818 On self-image. Very transversal and universal topic. 3. More than toys. https://www.etwinning.net/en/pub/projects/pro
